MEMBERSHIP

The members of the Association are divided into ordinary, extraordinary, and honorary members.

  • Ordinary Members: All neonatologists can become ordinary members. Pediatricians who have worked for at least two years in neonatal intensive care units in Greece or abroad are also considered neonatologists, as well as those who have specialized in neonatology in Greece or abroad. Additionally, doctors from other specialties such as pathologists, hematologists, biologists, biochemists, chemists, and geneticists who have worked exclusively with newborns or conducted newborn-related research for at least two years can become ordinary members. Exceptionally, pediatricians who worked in civil or private neonatology departments for at least five years before 1994 can also become full members.

Registration is done by applying to the Board of Directors, and the application must be accompanied by recommendations from two ordinary members of the ENE, curriculum vitae, and a decision by the Board of Directors after examining the candidate's formal and substantive qualifications.

  • Extraordinary Members: Greeks and foreigners who wish to participate in the scientific work of the ENE can become extraordinary members in the same manner as ordinary members.
  • Honorary Members: Honorary members are declared by the Society’s Meeting after a proposal from the Board of Directors. They are individuals who have proven to offer significant services to the society, scientists, or elite members of society.

Ordinary and extraordinary members are required to pay a registration fee and an annual subscription determined by a decision of the Board of Directors. Specifically, on October 23, 2014, the Board of Directors decided that the annual fee contribution would be:

  • For all members: €50
